When it comes to choosing a pet from a bespoke retail store or animal shelters, cats and dogs are considered amongst the most popular purchases across all consumer groups to provide a new addition to any home or family. To this day, an age-old debate still exists over the advantages and disadvantages of the feline and canine species in establishing which the perfect pet is to be nurtured and looked after within a residential property. Both animals bring their own presence and aesthetic qualities to the extent that individuals can sometimes value a cat or dog as a companion who they pay more attention to than members of their own family. While dogs offer their own qualities, there are numerous reasons why homeowners choose to purchase a singular or multiple numbers of cats.

First and foremost, cats are independent animals that understand their own needs and requirements, and utilise their natural instincts around the house or outside to not require. Felines are also imaginative and inspired within their playful nature to find a form of fun from seemingly obscure items such as balls of wool or newspaper which can be inspiring and enjoyable for individuals to watch their pet enjoy itself. Whether it is a small cat or adult cat, their interest in companionship can establish a relationship with their owner as cats can feel comfortable and relaxed upon an individual’s lap or held in their hands. Unlike dogs who can become over-excited when individuals, particularly strangers, enter a residential property, cats take a more measured, methodical approach which can be more relaxing and less hostile.

Providing sufficient levels of cat health can result in a feline that not only looks and feels healthy in terms of its coat and overall energy levels, but can also lead to a clean animal that smells better than its canine counterpart. In addition to a reduction in noise, cats are appealing animals that add a lot of love and warmth into any home.
