In this article we will discuss the importance of a datacenter. A datacenter is like the heartbeat of an organisation. Essentially, the meaning of a datacenter is clearly implied by the word itself. Simply put- A datacenter is a place where data gets stored. Or rather, it is a place which holds the equipments and machines that store data. A datacenter is like a waterhole in an African jungle. None of the animals would be able to survive without it. A datacenter comprises of a huge room which stores complex electronic machines.

A datacenter can be compared to a place where newspapers are printed. Companies which produce newspapers basically engage in
    Processing information or rather events that take place in the world
    Printing them in a format that is legible to humans
    Distributing the processed information to everybody.
    A datacenter also does precisely the same things – but only in digital terms.

A datacenter stores all the information of a company. The job of a datacenter is to make sure that data is accessible whenever needed. Thus, in case of a power failure – a datacenter is also equipped with a backup power supply system to prevent loss or damage of data. All computers of the company work in tandem to ensure efficient data processing. A datacenter acts like the headmaster of all these computers – synchronising all the activities so that everything works as one dynamic system. A datacenter can be compared to the music director in an orchestra. The music director controls the actions of all the musicians to produce a melodious symphony. If the music director were to be removed from the equation – then this would result in an imperceptible cacophony. Similarly, a datacenter co-ordinates and supports the working of all computers of a particular organisation and prevents them from going haywire.
